1900-2007 Vehicle Titling Service
1900-2007 Vehicle Titling Service
This service provides you with a vehicle ownership document in your name in the form of a title or transferable registration. You will just need a bill of sale to qualify. No inspections are necessary. FREE LICENSE PLATE/REGISTRATION INCLUDED!
We will mail you paperwork within 1 day to be completed and returned to us.
You will owe 6% sales tax based on the NADA average value or vehicle purchase price, whichever is higher. If you have already paid sales tax, we will need proof in the form of a receipt or bill of sale. Tax exemptions may apply in specific cases. You can find your NADA value.
If your vehicle is 2008 or NEWER, you can get a title at our 2008+ Titling Service HERE.
If you are unsure if your vehicle has a lien, reported theft, or salvage branding, check your VIN Here. You will only need a bill of sale¹ to qualify for this service.
This service is not for UTV’s, Military vehicles, or other off-road vehicles, even if they have already been registered through us. If you have an off-road vehicle, use THIS service.
All you want to do is get your vehicle titled. All we want to do is help. That’s why we’ve removed the frustrating guesswork and dead-ends that are way too common with this process. In fact, we’ve removed the work for you entirely! Here’s what you can expect out of your hassle-free Dirt Legal titling experience:
- Out-of-state transferable registration2 in 5-7 weeks. This will be a legal ownership document that can be transferred between most states.
- Dedicated agent support to guide you through the process and answer any questions about paperwork, state-to-state transfers, etc.
Why face hours of research, mounds of government paperwork, and ongoing headaches if you don’t have to? With a few docs and details from you, we handle all the heavy lifting. This is all you’ll need to do:
Select your vehicle year and registration options: This will determine the price for us to title your vehicle. If you want your vehicle licensed and registered as well, simply select yes for this option.
Checkout: Click Add to Cart and complete the checkout process. You’ll receive an email confirmation with your receipt and order number.
Vehicle information: Fill out the vehicle info form that appears after you check out. As long as you have a bill of sale and a Vehicle Identification Number3 (VIN), we can title any vehicle regardless of state.
Documents: Keep an eye on your mailbox. We’ll send you a checklist for the materials we need to handle the service on your behalf, including your bill of sale, copy of ID, notarized power of attorney4, and sales tax5 (if not already paid)
Send it in: Mail everything to us using the pre-paid envelope we’ve provided to make it as easy as possible for you. Congrats, your part’s done! Now simply wait to receive your new vehicle ownership document in the mail!

“I ended up getting frustrated with all the different ‘recommendations’ online. I literally did nothing except fill out some paperwork Dirt Legal sent me. The whole thing took less than six weeks by the time I had the title in my hand. I couldn’t be happier.”
– David Snow, December 2020
2Potential in-state exceptions exist, but this does not impact the titling process
3In rare circumstances, a brief VIN inspection may be required
4Dirt Legal’s POA form is solely limited to bike registration, license plate purchase, and title transfer
5Payable by check or money order; Dirt Legal will indicate the exact amount based on 4-6% of the vehicle purchase price or NADA average retail value, whichever is higher
